Cabane de Moiry CAS

"Such a beautiful location for a mountain hut but unfortunately felt like a tourist trap. Would definitely recommend hiking up for a drink or food from their day menu but if you are staying prepare to be underwhelmed by the food they provide night guests - I did not feel it was sufficient for majority of people who had been hiking far and for the price we paid. They also say their water isn’t drinkable as it hasn’t been filtered so charge 12 CWF for a 1.5L bottle. I had already drank 2L of water from the bathroom before I found this out but it seemed perfectly fine."

"Cabane is super nice,clean, small dormitories of 4 beds suitable for available. Clean toilets. However my only issue is that this Cabane is missing the real mountain cabin ambience.Team is functional but dont feel very welcome in this cabane. The warmth from team is missing! No bonjour, au revoir etc. Just functional. Thats it!."

"By far my favourite hut of the Haute Route. Incredible hike up, amazing views from the hut, really friendly and helpful staff who provided yummy dinner and breakfast. Cabin was busy with Haute Route hikers, day hikers and people exploring the glacier - some had alarms going off from 0330 so do get an early night or bring some ear plugs 😁"
